SAINTS CORNER- A Saint with a Sword: The Story of Saint Joan of Arc

Hey, there! It's Julia! I want to be St. Joan of Arc for Halloween this year because she is an amazing saint. I watched a movie about her and she is SO BRAVE. She fought in an army, she died for Christ and she's so courageous.

She was born on January 6,1412 in France. When she was little, she heard St. Margaret, St. Michael and St. Catherine of Siena talking to her.
 She was told by those saints to drive the English out of the French territory.

She tried to receive permission to get an army. She soon got one. With a horse, armor, banner and sword, she arrived in Orleans and turned a conflict into a religious war.

She began to win battle after battle. Soon, she traveled to a city and she was captured! She tried to escape but she couldn't. Then, she was sold to the English for 10,000 gold coins. Then, she was tried as a witch. They couldn't find any evidence against her.

Even though there was no evidence against her, she was going to die anyway, on May 30, 1431. She was tied to a large pillar and burned. The English threw the ashes from the fire into a river.

So Joan of Arc was country farmer, in the army, prisoner and martyr filled with God's grace. How can you be God's soldier today?
