SAINTS CORNER- Apostle of Divine Mercy: The Story of Saint Faustina

Hi! It's Julia! Today, we're talking about St. Faustina! She was born on August 25, 1905. Her family was Polish and catholic. She died right before World War Two. St. Faustina worked a lot before she became a sister of Our Lady of Mercy. She is called "the Apostle of Divine Mercy." She was twenty when she became a nun. She moved around a bit while she was a nun. But the most remarkable thing about St. Faustina was that she saw Jesus in the Divine Mercy image. She was so surprised. Why was Jesus appearing to her? But Jesus appears to people when they don't expect it. Jesus doesn't come to people who are rich and famous. He comes to the poor and unknown. He makes the poor and unknown world famous. That's what happened St. Faustina. Sadly, no one believed St. Faustina until after she died, on the fifth of October. She died when she was 33 of tuberculosis. Did you know that Jesus died when he was 33? It's a very young age.

St. Faustina's diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul is a published (and very long) book. It's her autobiography. An autobiography is a biography that the person wrote. A biography is a book that was written about the person by a different author.

That's St. Faustina!

St. Faustina, PRAY FOR US!!!!
